The Canadian approach to climate change-model for the world-NOT

So our prime minister is over talking to the German leaders (note: Germany is on track to meet its Kyoto targets) about the Canadian approach to climate change. To oversimplify, our new approach is not to reduce overall emissions of green house gases, but to reduce intensity (ie. percentage discharge related to production-therefore if production levels increase, as they will, then ultimate emissions could also increase).  Harper says Canada is committed to reducing its GHG emissions to half of what they were in 2006 by 2050.  Other countries are working to reduce their emissions by 60-80% of the 1990 levels....Canda is clearly far behind in its plan.
