Living Green-hard to get people on board when the bus fares keep going up!
I can't believe that the same week that one commentator suggested there would not only be huge environmental benefits to making public transit free, but also economic benefits, Translink increases bus fair so that a trip from Surrey to Vancouver costs $5??? Its crazy....when I used to take the Skytrain from east van to my law office downtown each day, I would marvel at how the support staff could afford to drive in and park each day-and that was 10 years ago. Many would say that it was almost the same cost as the bus-well now that will really be true-and what kind of incentive is that to get people out of their cars!
